Morning Protein Boost Oatmeal Smoothie

A mix of complex carbs, fresh nutrients and complete protein in the morning starts your day with an energetic boost and give you sustained energy throughout your morning. Smoothies are a great way to get in a TON of nutrients easily and quickly. They are also a great way to keep blood sugar levels even which prevent cravings, energy slumps and weight gain.

Oat, hemp, chia and nut butter in this recipes give a high dose of clean, easily digestible and usable protien. Oat protein is nearly equivalent in quality to soy protein, which World Health Organization research has shown is equal to meat, milk, and egg protein. The protein content of the hull-less oat kernel (groat) ranges from 12 to 24%, the highest among cereals. You want to make sure to use a raw whole oat, one that has not been processed, refined or heated, which ensures all the nutrients are still in tact.

Hemp is also one of the highest quality protiens to be found in Nature. Hemp seeds contain all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary for the body. There is no other single plant source that has all the essential amino acids in such an easily digestible form, the enzymes, the bacteria and the essential fatty acids in such a perfect ratio to meet anyone, especially the athlete's nutritional needs.

Chia seeds are also a high quality protein having all the 9 essential amino acids in proper proportions including other nonessentials. Chia has an amino acid score of 115%. A complete score is 100% and is exceptionally rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which are definenct in the Western diet and needed for superior muscular, joint and nervous system function.

Hemp, chia and flax are referred to as the Power Seeds, this is because they are all three nutritional powerhouses and EASY to include in most meals and smoothies. All three seeds contain high levels of Omega Fatty Acids, Fiber, Protein and Calcium which makes them alkalizing to your body. These plant based proteins are high in fiber, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemcials, complex carbohydrates and essential fats which makes them the perfect foods for active, healthy individuals or those wishing to increase their health.
