Candice's Healing Soup Recipe

Delicious, nutritious and so warming for the cold Fall and Winter months, fresh soups are my favorite for the cold Winter months! With Winter, we often see a lot of different bugs and sicknesses going around. Just as one stops another one begins. This medley of fresh veggies and herbs synergistically blend to create a soup that heals and nourishes from the inside out. Helpful in alleviating some of the most common cold and flu symptoms this soup recipe also strengthens your immune system to prevent you from getting sick to begin with! From powerful antioxidants, to respiratory soothers, to immune system stimulants this soup is your perfect Winter ally. 


Fresh Turmeric – 2 tsps. Turmeric is a highly potentate herb used in Ayruvedic medicine. In this case we are using it as a purifier, it helps the lungs stay clear, boosts immunity, antibacterial, antioxidant, keeps digestion strong which during sickens is vital to continue good absorption of minerals and nutrients.

Fresh Organic Garlic (5 cloves) – used within 15 minutes of cutting. Garlic is a powerful antibiotic, antifungi, helps flush, clean and purify the body systems namely blood systems, strengthens the immune system, helps clean and clear the lungs.

Fresh Organic Onion (1 large white, chopped coarsley) – Onions provide relief in the treatment of coughs and colds, asthma and bronchitis. Onions are known to decrease bronchial spasms. Onions are a very rich source of fructo-oligosaccharides which stimulate the growth of healthy bifidobacteria and suppress the growth of potentially harmful bacteria in the colon.

Fresh Organic Rosemary (stem removed) – 2 tbs. Rosemary leaves are beneficial for circulation and headache relief as well as upper respiratory clearness and health.
Fresh Organic Thyme (stem removed) - 2 tbs. Thyme fights several disease causing bacteria and viruses. It is a good digestive aid and is a great cold remedy.

Fresh Organic Marjoram (Stems removed)- 2 tbs. An excellent digestive aid which helps the body speed up the healing process and keep the immune system strong.

Fresh Organic Oregano -  2 tbs. minced. The seeds and the leaves of this plant contain powerful antioxidants and anti-bacterials. These two properties combined, will knock the socks off any Winter health problem.

Fresh Organic Sage –  2 tbs. minced. Sage is a great infection fighter, digestive aid and sore throat soother.

Himalayan Sea Salt (Real sea salt that has not been dried, cooked or otherwise processed, which removes mineral content)- 2 tsps. 
Sea salt contain 92 essential minerals, 24 of these elements in real sea salt have already been proven necessary and essential to maintain and recover health. Himalayan Sea Salt contains all of the 84 elements found in your body include:

Organic Coarse Black Pepper – 2 tsps. Pepper increases the absorption of the nutrients on any food it is applied to.

Organic Fresh Carrots - 3-5 not peeled, coarsely chopped. Carrots are an excellent source of antioxidant compounds, and the richest vegetable source of the pro-vitamin A carotenes, which are the health promoting plant phytonutrients your body needs to remain healthy.

Organic Fresh Bella Mushrooms -  10 coarsely chopped. Mushrooms are a rich source of riboflavin, niacin, selenium and potassium.

Organic Fresh Celery - 2 ribs, chopped. Celery is one of the best sources of mineral salts and vitamins. The minerals and vitamins celery contain include calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene, riboflavin, niacin and vitamin C. All important to have a strong immune system. 

Cayenne Extract - 1-2 ml. Cayenne is a circulatory stimulant, which helps to rid the body of toxins and illnesses more quickly. It also helps to warm the internal organs and cells, ridding germs and helping the organs work more effectively.

Fresh Organic Ginger Root - 2 tbs. minced. Fresh ginger root is packed with loads of benefits including cleansing the stomach and digestive system, increasing circulation and reducing inflammation.

Place all the ingredients in a crock pot. 
Cover with veggie broth. 
Simmer on low setting 6 hours.
