Healthy Vegan Peace-Pizza Recipe



The Peace-A-Pie is an annual event, started in 2011, to raise awareness of the U.N. International Day of Peace, just around the corner on September 21! How and what you eat can help to promote peace. The ways in which most animals live in the factory farm model prior to being slaughtered is anything but peaceful. Peace can never reside where there is suffering and much suffering occurs in the creation of most animal products in the US. This includes cheese and animal meats like pepperoni and sausage. While you may love these toppings, when you buy or eat them, you contribute to and support the cycle of suffering on our planet. 

To honor this even we offer our Healthy Vegan Peace-Pizza Recipe, animal and cruelty free! You will be amazed at just how delicious healthy pizza can be, you just may never go back!

Ingredients:

Toppings:
1 Organic Red Bell Pepper
2 Organic Carrots
Handful of Fresh Organic Spinach
1 Bunch Organic Asparagus
1 c Basil Cashew Cheese


Red Tomato Sauce:
1 bunch of Organic on the Vine Tomatoes
1/4-1/2 small Organic Yellow Onion
3 cloves Organic Garlic
1 small container Fresh Organic Basil
1 tsp. Celtic or Himalayan Sea Salt
1 tsp. Coarse Black Pepper

White Pizza Sauce:

3 cloves Organic Garlic
1 Organic Lemon
1/4-1/2 small Organic Yellow Onion
1-2 tbs. Flax Seed Oil
1-2 tbs. Hemp Seed Oil
1 tsp. Celtic or Himalayan Sea Salt
1 tsp. Coarse Black Pepper

Basil Cashew Cheese:
2 cups soaked raw cashews
1/4 c oil (olive, hemp or flax)
Juice of 1 organic lemon
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp. Coarse Black pepper
1/2 tsp. Sea Salt
1/4 c Fresh Organic Basil (minced)

Directions Cheese:
Put all ingredients into blender
Blend until mixture becomes creamy
Add additional filtered water as needed to achieve consistency desired
You can refrigerate for a more creamy consistency

Crust:
Flax, Wheat or Seed Flat Bread

Directions Pizza:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Choose either the tomato or white sauce.
Place all the ingredients for that sauce into a blender
Blend 3-5 minutes


Dice pizza topping veggies


Cover flat bread crust with sauce
Lay veggies on pizza in a peace sign symbol


Put into pre-heated oven for approximately 10 minutes, or until crust is crisp
Enjoy!
